This year I am on the Johnson County Relay for Life planning committee. More specifically, I am the Luminaria Chairperson. During the Relay for Life event on June 24, we will have a special Luminaria ceremony in which we light candles in honor of or in memory of friends or loved ones who have had cancer. If you purchase a Luminaria, it will be on display during this ceremony. The Luminaria you purchase can be designed with a photo, name, and phrase. Let me know if you are interested in purchasing. They make good gifts for this Holiday season and are only $10…and all the money goes to the fight against cancer!
You can order luminarias today by completing either the online Luminaria form or the mail-in Luminaria form, both of which are available via the “Luminaria” tab on our website. Holiday certificates “in memory” and “in honor” of your loved ones also are available on the “Luminaria” page. If you have questions, please contact me.
Not only am I on the Relay planning committee, but I am also participating in Relay! When I registered online, I was issued my own personal fundraising web page. It explains what Relay For Life is and why I chose to get involved. My web page also has my fundraising goal and how much money I’ve raised so far.
